Dr. Rachel Ceballos, Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Ceballos's present research examines the interaction of psychosocial factors and biological mechanisms of disease. She studies biomarkers of cancer risk in behavioral intervention studies that focus on issues of cancer prevention and control. She integrates her training in psychoneuroendocrinology and cancer prevention with the development and evaluation of culturally appropriate behavioral interventions. Specifically, she is interested in extending the assessment of minority health intervention programs to include psychological (i.e., stress and depression) contributors to cancer prevention behaviors and biological (i.e., cortisol, VEGF, leptin) correlates of cancer risk.
